Sounds fantastic, I love tarragon and pork. I have a crock pot, but it's really small so I almost never use it. I want a larger one, but I need a larger apartment first! Heh.

Joanne,
thanks very much for the tips. I love pulled pork...but my husband loves it more, so I will definitely be looking up those recipes with keeping him happy in mind.

First of all, love the new layout. It looks really super.

Second of all, love the crockpot. I got mine a little less than a year ago as a birthday present and I absolutely fell in love! My favorite thing to make in it is pulled pork. I have some recipes for it on my blog. So easy and SO good.

The one thing that I will say about the crockpot is that as long as there is liquid in it, it is impossible to overcook anything. I usually leave meat in it on low for 6-10 hours depending on when I get up and get around to setting everything up and then when I'm hungry come evening. I rarely ever cook anything on high but I think a safe rule would be that you can halve the amount of time as on low.

OMG - we had the same crock pot while I was growing up. I have a modern one now but I long to steal this one from my mom! I love the brown ceramic interior.

That's so awesome that you got this for free! My Mom swears that you should turn it on high for 30 minutes before turning it down to low. I have no idea why but that's the only way that I can use a crock pot now. She could actually make a really good ham & white bean stew. One of like three dishes that she can actually cook well.

And yes, it's from the 70s. Great score!
