In 2009, the wife and I decided to start an Easter Brunch Holiday tradition – The yearly Easter Egg Cake. (the original cake and recipe can be found here) Each year we intended on simply trying something new, something creative, and sharing the joy with the family…
Here is the result of the 2010 Easter Egg Cake effort – The Fabergé Egg Cake.
Here is the base cake, fresh with Fondant.
Adding the ribbons…
And the final Cake…
Again, this cake reminds me that, yes, I/we should be baking for a living.

Thank you Monicajane & Tina. Easter is one of those holidays I really look forward to simply because of getting to work with Van on our annual Easter Egg Cake. I think we will stick to Faberge Egg – style cakes! It was really very fun.

It looks like fun…and it’s so pretty that I know you felt real accomplishment with the end result. You should cater…or do you?

Hi Tina!
We were both very happy with this, and everyone at the event didn’t want to cut it. We do not cater but we are really, really thinking about it. We just don’t know how to get into it.
Hope all is well,
